Review
As someone who has generally loved Aestura products, this was something I put off trying as I dislike most mineral sunscreens and I am very picky with them. Eventually, I got a mini size to try. This has a thick cream texture that does not have a tint but the lotion does have a white colour to it. It did leave an initial white cast on me (I have light medium to medium skin tone with neutral olive undertone) however the white cast did seem to dissipate after a while. However, I was very much aware of the product sitting on top of my face. As mineral sunscreens generally donāt get absorbed fully and sit on top of your skin to help provide UV protection, I did notice some of it running down my face when I went for a workout and started sweating. It does work decently under makeup but I prefer formulations that get absorbed into the skin and nourish the skin that donāt feel heavy sitting on top. It does provide decent hydration and did not irritate my skin. However, as for mineral sunscreens, I personally prefer more fluid, runny textures like that of La Roche Posay and Tatcha. They sink into the skin better and feel more lightweight which is important considering I live in a hot, humid climate.
Would I Recommend?
No, unless you have sensitive skin and a lighter complexion. If your lifestyle includes working out or being in a hot, humid climate, this would not be a formulation you would appreciate. If you have medium or darker complexion, this is likely to leave a whitecast on you. If you have sensitive skin and are looking for a mineral sunscreen, I would suggest to look at American formulations as they are more likely to cater to more skin tones. There are other popular mineral sunscreens in K-Beauty like that of Dr G which may be worth a try but I have not yet tested those products. I would be curious to see if Aestura formulates a chemical sunscreen as that suits my lifestyle better and I generally like the base formula used in most K-Beauty chemical sunscreens. However, this was not it for me and I wouldnāt be purchasing the full size.
You can get this on Olive Young Global and Shopee.
