Review
I feel like even if Round Lab is relatively popular especially thanks to their viral sunscreen and the Dokdo line gaining the spotlight as a result, their other product lines tend to be either overlooked or not as talked about. The soybean line focuses on hydration and nourishment and helping the skin lock in moisture that helps combat skin problems like texture, irritation and deteriorating skin barrier health. You could even categorise it as a no frills moisturiser that is nothing fancy but does the job. I was having a spell of feeling like my skin felt dry a few hours after applying a night time moisturiser and felt the need to pile one extra layers or add a sleeping mask. I saw this in Koreaās Olive Young and with it being part of a 1+1 deal, I couldnāt resist and I justified it to myself by saying I needed a new nighttime moisturiser anyway. This has a thicker cream consistency that has a weight to it and dispenses with a consistency that just a touch more malleable than a balm. Soy bean is also said to have anti ageing properties which could be seen in the way the product delivers hydration and bouncy, supple skin. As someone with dry skin, this works so well for me with tackling transepidermal water loss and locking in the moisture. I do feel like my skin feels supple and soft the next day morning. I am able to wear this in the morning as well and it works well under makeup and doesnāt feel heavy. While dryer skin types would definitely prefer this, I do this oilier skin types could use it as a night time moisturiser especially in the colder months. As someone living in a hot and humid climate, I didnāt find this to be heavy or sitting on top of my skin uncomfortably. It absorbs comfortably and leaves a skin like finish while being effective. There are also claims about it providing 120 hours of moisture though I did not test that as I would not recommend not washing your face for that long. All in all, I continue to be impressed with Round Labās products as I have had more hits than misses so I am curious to explore their products further.
Would I Recommend
Yes, absolutely. I would say itās amongst my favourite K-Beauty moisturisers along with Aestura Ato Barrier Cream and the Dr Althea Relief Cream. If you have dryer skin, you would likely enjoy it. If you have very oily skin, this may be too thick for you. But combo or normal to oily skin could enjoy using this as a night time moisturiser with its lasting deep hydrating benefits. This does seem to be fragrance free so it could likely work for sensitive skin but if youāre concerned do a patch test before using it on your face.
You can get this at Olive Young Global, YesStyle or Shopee.
