Review
As I am generally a fan of La Roche Posay’s Anthelios sunscreens, I was curious about the tinted version as I saw reviews of it on social media on people with skin tone similar to mine. This has the same watery consistency as the non-tinted version and applies quite similarly too. It is quite weightless and easy to blend which is not always the case for mineral or hybrid sunscreens. This product contains hybrid filters that include chemical filters and titanium dioxide. The technologies used in the formulation are also innovative. The use of the UV filter Mexoryl400 boosts UVA protection which forms majority of the UV rays. Netlock technology, on the other hand, helps boost water resistance and helps to make the formulation less greasy to provide a better user experience when applying product. XL-Protect aids broad spectrum protection while protecting the skin against pollution and infrared. While I did not notice significant hydration from the product, I liked how easy its was to use and how well it sat under makeup. As someone with dry skin, I need more emollient ingredients to provide deeper hydration and I usually turn to my skincare layered under sunscreen for that. Hyperpigmentation in general is also addressed as with most SPF protection that helps shield the skin to heal from and combat pigmentation. I am not sure how well the product performs when working out as I generally dislike seeing visible transfer onto towels or clothes after sweating when using sunscreens with mineral filters. However, for the daily use, it is a good option that provides a little bit of coverage to even out skin tone and provide good SPF protection. As the coverage is more sheer, it is easier to layer the product on top without it feeling and looking too much.
Would I Recommend
Only if your skin tone is light medium to medium skin tone. As it does have a tint and only comes in one shade as of now, this can’t be used universally. I do hope the brand can expand to cater for more shades. As I have medium skin tone, I am able to use it. However, very pale or medium dark or deeper tones would likely notice a cast. To be sure, you can test it in stores before purchasing and as the coverage is sheer, you could get away with using it even if it is not a close match. However, I would recommend the non-tinted version over this just for the universality of the non-tinted product. Also do note denatured alcohol and fragrance are part of the formulation so if you have sensitive skin, definitely patch test before purchasing.
You can get this on Amazon or Shopee.
