Main Ingredients: Hypochlorus acid
Main Concerns Targeted: Acne, Irritation
Review
This needs no introduction being a product that has already gone viral at this point. The first skincare product that I tried from Tower 28 and I feel like it also helped popularise the hypochlorus acid even if the ingredient has been around for a long time now. It is an anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial ingredient that helps kill bacteria on your skin that could cause acne and irritation. It also helps to calm and soothe the skin to prevent further inflammation. I got the mini size to try and found myself reaching for it especially while travelling or after a gym session as a preventative measure against any acne that could develop. It can be used in many ways depending on your lifestyle and skin type as either a preventative measure or to tackle any breakouts you are experiencing to help expedite the healing. I do sometimes produce oils on my T-zone and I did notice breakouts being kept at bay that that area and on my pores when I was consistent with using the product. When I had any small breakouts, I did use this in conjunction with a spot treatment. However, it was probably more effective as preventative care versus tackling the actual breakout.
Would I Recommend
If you are acne prone, yes. If not, it is a nice to have but not necessary. Also it is important to note that your local drugstore probably already has products that contain hypochlorus acid which is the magic ingredient in this product that renders its benefits. As Tower 28 is not sold at my local Sephora, I sometimes get alternatives from my local drugstore instead of getting it from Tower 28 as the brand is not as easily accessible to me. I usually need to pay for third party shipping carriers to get the product from Tower 28’s website to my country. While the price of US$28 is decent for a product stocked at Sephora, you could probably find an alternative that works as well for the fraction of the price. Hence, it is not necessary to repurchase this but if you like the convenience, the brand and it is accessible to you, by all means go for it. It does not contain fragrance or alcohol being a simple formulation hence sensitive skin could also benefit from it. As always, patch test before use if concerned.
You can get this at Sephora or Tower 28’s website.
